Welcome to the definitive achievement guide for Lies of P. This guide is structured to help you unlock all 53 trophies/achievements in the game.
First of all, to obtain all achievements, a minimum of two playthroughs is required: a normal run and NG+. But don't worry, most achievements can be earned during your first playthrough. However, the catch is that many achievements are missable. The game features characteristic Soulslike difficulty, but it is possible to adjust effective difficulty through builds and NG+ preparations.
If playing on a console without cloud save manipulations, you may need three full playthroughs:
- First Playthrough: Lie whenever possible, choose "Refuse" to Gepetto at the end to obtain the "Rise of P" ending.
- Second Playthrough: Tell only the Truth, choose "Refuse", do not grant peace to Sophia, and mop up remaining achievements.
- Third Playthrough: Give your heart to Gepetto for the "Real Boy" ending and avoid fighting the secret final boss "Nameless Puppet" on NG++.
Regarding the DLC, it is up to the player when to complete it: either during the first run or in NG+. You can access it after beating the main story or during the campaign, switching between the main story and DLC via Stargazers. Just be mindful of your Lie/Truth choices if doing it mid-run.
Key differences between doing DLC in NG vs NG+:
- Doing DLC in your first playthrough won't let you get all DLC achievements in one go due to NG+-exclusive records, but you gain access to powerful DLC special weapons (e.g., Pale Knight) that help tremendously in NG.
- Doing DLC in NG+ allows you to unlock all DLC achievements in a single run.
Step 1: First Playthrough (Max Humanity - Always Lie)
Follow these core rules during your first run:
- Always lie: In almost all situations, choose the lie option. Occasional truth isn't fatal, but avoid it. Humanity indicators include the painting of P in Hotel Krat's office (unlocked after the first Black Rabbit Brotherhood fight) and prompts like "Your springs are reacting", "The Ergo is whispering", "Your heart is pounding", with the last one indicating maximum humanity.
- Thoroughly explore the map for items, collectibles, and side quests. The linear map structure makes most items predictable. Stargazer icons will signal if there's active quest dialogue in an area.
- Exhaust ALL NPC dialogue options. Crucial for endings and side quest progression.
- Save Boss Ergo. Do NOT consume them! Swap them later with Alidoro for special weapons needed for "Special Weapon Collector".
Save backup strategy: After defeating Simon Manus, back up your save before making the final choice to obtain 2 endings in one run. Do NOT start NG+ immediately after credits; return to the hotel first.
Step 2: Second Playthrough (Full Truth - Always Tell Truth)
Always tell the truth (except at the entrance gate of Hotel Krat). This run will grant achievements like "The Story of a Stranger Girl", "Golden Melody", and "Free from the Puppet String".
